Dr Fiona Wisniacki is an Emergency Medicine Consultant of 15 years working in North West London. She has developed an interest in same day emergency care (SDEC) over the last 9 years after leading 3 London Emergency Departments and Ambulatory Care Units and has experience in interprofessional relationship building and pathway development recognising that patient care depends on ‘right place, right person, first time’! She is now committed to the National team where her aims are to link SDEC best practice nationally as well as to help to develop admission alternative innovations. Fiona has recently designed the FRAIL Acute Frailty Strategy for NHSEI with the aim of admission prevention for the over 65 year olds. Acute oncology is also now within the SDEC programme with the aim that less patients will get admitted for cancer diagnosis, simple treatments and diagnostics and that conditions will be managed on a same day basis. She works clinically for London North West University Healthcare Trust.
