Judit Varkonyi-Sepp is an HCPC-registered Health Psychologist, a Chartered Psychologist and a Chartered Scientist. After obtaining her first post-graduate degree in Psychology, she worked clinically in acute mental health setting and then as a counselling psychologist alongside holding clinical research leadership positions in the corporate sector and since 2010 in the UK National Health Service.
Judit is the psychology lead for the NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre prehabilitation research programme. Her work includes developing interventions to support people affected by long-term and life-limiting conditions to take control of their physical and emotional wellbeing, methods to increase health care professionals’ competence and confidence to support people to change their behaviours and enhance their overall wellbeing, and interventions to increase health care professionals’ resilience.
For more than a decade Judit also has been working as a coaching psychologist. Her work includes coaching aspiring leaders towards executive positions in the NHS Leadership Academy and in the Nye Bevan Programme. She is a director of the International Society for Coaching Psychology.
Judit is a member of the United Kingdom Health Psychology Exchange, a voluntary expert network providing health psychology consultancy to a wide range of organisations and sectors and a founding member of the Faculty of Healthy Conversation Skills, a specialist body in behaviour change intervention skills.
