Vanya is Specialist Senior Adult Oncology Programme (SAOP) and Haemato-Oncology Pharmacist at Royal Marsden Hospital, United Kingdom.
She specialised in oncology in 2014 taking on both technical and clinical roles, completing Diploma in General Pharmacy practice and qualifying as an independent prescriber in 2019.
As an Oncology Pharmacist, Vanya has experience in haemato-oncology/solid tumours and currently works as a part of multidisciplinary SAOP team which aim is to deliver personalised and holistic care for patients with cancer aged ≥70 years.
Vanya is an active member of International Society of Geriatric Oncology, Cancer and Aging Research Group, British Oncology Pharmacy Association, Royal Pharmaceutical Society and General Pharmaceutical Council.
Her special clinical and research areas of interests are geriatric-oncology and related to this developments in solid tumours and haemato-oncology cancers.
As committee member of BOPA Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Subcommittee and Research Subcommittee and member of SIOG NAH Interest Group she works with the different clinical teams at the Royal Marsden Hospital, other UK hospitals, Primary healthcare providers and colleagues around the world to ensure that senior adults with cancer get the most out of their medicines. Recently she has been granted Pre-Doctoral Fellowship by Royal Marden Charity and her research aim is to develop an innovative ways to improve medication safety in senior adults with cancer, to enhance patients’ education and adherence to medications, to improve their quality of life and chemotherapy experience.
