Rowan trained in Bristol as a Plastic Reconstructive Surgeon with a special interest in skin cancer. Rowan has worked all over the world, earning his cancer Fellowship in the United States and working with the US Army Trauma Team. He has performed cleft reconstruction in the Nepalese Himalayas and served as a British Military Surgeon. Rowan specialises in skin cancer reconstruction as both surgeon and academic holding a chair at Edge Hill University and associate chair at Liverpool University where his team specialises in chemo resistance in melanoma. He leads research nationally for the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive Surgeons and NCRI, and also regionally for NIHR. Rowan leads and runs a number of clinical trials offering patients the opportunity to be part of world-class research.
