PRICE, Dr Gareth

Dr Price is a senior lecturer in digital cancer sciences at The University of Manchester and a clinical scientist in medical physics working at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. His research aims to understand how routinely collected ‘real-world’ healthcare data can be used to improve cancer care. In particular, he is working on the development and application of the digital health Learning Healthcare System and Rapid Learning concepts, with projects span the workflow of these approaches: innovative data capture and sharing technologies; the analysis of real-world data to provide clinical insight; and the prospective use of real-world data to evaluate the clinical impact of changes in practice. His vision is that the digital data that is recorded about all patients as part of their normal treatment can be harnessed to provide evidence where clinical trial data does not or will not exist.
