I am a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Breast Cancer Translational Research and Honorary Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Edinburgh Centre and Edinburgh Cancer Centre/ Western General Hospital, University of Edinburgh. I split my time between running a busy breast oncology practice in the Western General Hospital and conducting translational studies at CRUK Edinburgh Centre where I hold a position as a Principal Investigator/Group Leader. I hold a BSc in Genetics, an MSc in Oncology and Cellular Pathology, an MRes in Immunology and a PhD in Translational Medicine. I completed my medical oncology specialty training in King’s College Hospital in London and soon after I moved to Edinburgh to start on my academic post at the University of Edinburgh. My group consists of 2 PhD students, 1 senior Post Doc Fellow and 1 research associate. I have established strong collaborations with other University Institutes that led to successful grants. I am a NICE and SMC expert advisor and an active member of several professional societies including ACP, ESMO, ASCO and EORTC. I am involved in numerous clinical trials either as a member of the steering committees or as a local Principal Investigator in several clinical trials. I am the Chief Investigator in a number of translational studies.
