Professor David Nicol
Consultant Urologist and Chief of Surgery MB BS FRACS
David Nicol is a Consultant Urological Surgeon whose clinical practice is predominantly related to kidney and testicular cancer as well as surgery for adrenal and retroperitoneal tumours. Originally from Australia where he graduated from the University of Queensland. After urological training in Australia and Canada he was appointed as a Consultant Urologist and Renal Transplant Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane becoming Director of Urology and Renal Transplantation and Professor of Surgery at the University of Queensland. He moved to the UK in 2009 to the Royal Free Hospital where he was Clinical Lead of Renal Surgery. Since 2012 he has worked at the Royal Marsden Hospital where he is Chief of Surgery and Professor of Surgical Oncology at the Institute of Cancer Research. He has been a member of the Clinical Reference Group for Specialist Urological Cancer for NHS England. Currently he is a member of the NCRI Bladder and Renal CSG as well as the European Association of Urology Testicular Cancer Guidelines Committee. He has published in excess of 140 articles in peer reviewed journals and 7 book chapters.
