JONES, Dr Christopher

Chris Jones is a Clinical Lecturer in Clinical Oncology based within the Cancer Research UK (CRUK) RadNet Unit at the University of Cambridge. He trained in Birmingham and undertook clinical academic training posts in the West Midlands and Leeds before moving to Cambridge to take up a Clinical Lectureship. Here, he works within the Fitzgerald lab and has a particular focus on improving the radiation response and post-treatment surveillance of oesophageal cancers. He is also involved in a number of national clinical trials focussed on the use of radiotherapy in oesophageal cancer. Chris is also Deputy Chair of the UK & Ireland Oesophagogastric Research Group and recently jointly led an RCR project to define quality metrics for oesophageal radiotherapy. Chris has a wider interest in broadening participation in clinical academia and established the Royal College of Radiologists Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) in addition to the UK National Oncology Trainees Collaborative for Healthcare Research (NOTCH).
