Dr Jankowska is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Beacon Centre, Taunton, where she specialises in the treatment of patients with lung cancer and head & neck cancer.
Dr Jankowska trained at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, obtaining her medical degree in 1996, having also taken an Intercalated degree in Psychology in 1993, and been awarded a First Class MSc (Hons).
After general medical training in North London, she completed her specialist oncology training at the Middlesex/ Royal Free/ Mount Vernon Hospital rotation and The Royal Marsden Hospital, Fulham Road.
She was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Musgrove Park Hospital in 2007 before the building of the new cancer centre for Somerset, The Beacon Centre, commenced. She was instrumental in the early appointments of key staff to develop the Centre, encourage clinical research, and cement its reputation as a medium sized Cancer Centre that consistently ‘punches above its weight’.
Dr Jankowska is committed to improving safety and quality of patients’ care through her developing career in medical leadership and her role at the Royal College of Radiologists as National Lead for Safety and Quality in Radiotherapy. Most recently, she chaired the Working Party producing the 2nd Edition of the RCR Guidance on Target Volume Definition and Peer Review.
