I am a Research Fellow at the Sport and Physical Activity Research Centre and the co-lead of the Living Well with Chronic Disease research theme at the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre, Sheffield Hallam University. My specific research interests are the role of physical activity and exercise in the prevention and management of chronic disease and health behaviour change.
As a Research Fellow, my role involves designing and managing several exercise-related research studies for patients with cancer, neurological conditions, and cardiovascular disease. My latest work has focused on the design of innovative physical activity interventions for the rehabilitation of cancer.
In 2021 we successfully gained funding from Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) to implement and deliver a large-scale rehabilitation pathway for people affected by cancer in Sheffield. The programme will provide patients diagnosed with lung, colorectal or upper GI cancers with physical activity, nutritional and psychological support throughout their cancer journey.
