GREEN, Dr Harshani

Dr. Harshani Green is a Locum Clinical Oncology Consultant and early career researcher (ECR) specialising in uro-oncology at the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research in London. Currently undertaking a higher research degree (MD) in renal cell carcinoma (RCC), her interests include optimising advanced image-guided radiotherapy techniques, particularly stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), proton beam therapy (PBT), and drug-radiotherapy combination treatments. She is junior Principal Investigator for VIRTUAL, a single-centre randomised interventional feasibility study of hypofractionated radiotherapy in RCC, and led the development of the RMH primary RCC SBRT service.

Having qualified as a Clinical Oncologist in 2019, she developed advanced radiotherapy and service development experience through a post-CCT PBT Fellowship at University College Hospital London. He current work involves international collaboration, facilitated by a visiting fellowship grant to CNAO, a Carbon-Ion Therapy Centre in Italy. Dr. Green also serves as Co-Chair for the UK Early Career Researchers in Cancer Group (UK ECRC). UK ECRC, previously the NCRI ECR forum, is a diverse, inclusive and free platform for multidisciplinary ECRs to connect and network, with the aim to champion the acceleration of patient-centred collaborative cancer research.  Additionally, she is an invited senior board member for British Oncology Network for Undergraduate Societies (BONUS). Dr. Green expresses gratitude to her colleagues, patients, and her family for their unwavering support in her journey as a collaborative clinical researcher.
