FURNESS, Ms Hannah

Hannah is a highly specialist physiotherapist in oncology and palliative care. She started her career in 2013 completing junior rotations Tunbridge Wells NHS, alongside part-time roles in sport, including Chelsea FC. In 2015, she joined the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust where she completed senior oncology rotations and from 2019-2023, she worked as Physiotherapy Lead at Royal Trinity Hospice, London. She remained on the Royal Marsden Critical Care bank rota during the Covid-19 pandemic, before returning to the Royal Marsden in October 2023, as Rehabilitation Lead for the Senior Adult Oncology Programme team. Alongside her NHS roles, she also founded her own private cancer physiotherapy practice, StrongerThan, in 2019. 

 

She is a member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), Association of Chartered Physiotherapist in Oncology and Palliative Care (ACPOPC), Physiotherapists in Exercise Oncology and Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG). She has held multiple volunteering, committee and clinical advisory boards roles; Hannah is currently the co-chair for the SIOG Rehab Group. She has also authored several publications, including co-authoring a chapter in ‘A Comprehensive Guide to Rehabilitation of the Older Patient’ (4th edition) published in 2019.
