Jo Evans is a consultant in medical oncology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust where she specialises in the treatment of thoracic malignancies and Acute Oncology. She also holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London.

As a basic medical scientist at heart, holding a first degree in genetics and a molecular biology based DPhil gained before deciding that a degree in medicine was a compelling option, she is especially interested in and motivated by advancing molecular stratification of cancers to influence better treatments, better quality of life and improved survival for our patients. She has especially enjoying growing the lung themed clinical trials portfolio at ICHNT, and has acted in the capacity of both local Principle Investigator, and Chief Investigator on both National and International trials. She also enjoys and values participating in research, working closely with several academic research groups, presenting work nationally and internationally. She dreams of an Acute Oncology Research Consortium!

She enjoys teaching and contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate medical curriculum delivery. She is the Lung Cancer Module Lead for the Institute of Cancer Research’s MSc in Oncology and has been an invited speaker for organisations such as Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh, Royal College of Physicians, England and the British Thoracic Oncology Society.
