Dr Apurna Jegannathen
Dr Apurna Jegannathen is a leading consultant clinical oncologist based in Stoke-On-Trent. She sees patients at Royal Stoke University Hospital, Stafford County Hospital, Nuffield Health – North Staffordshire Hospital and Genesis Care. She specialises in the treatment of all stages of breast cancer, lung cancer, carcinoma of unknown primary, radical radiotherapy, stereotactic ablative radiotherapy for lung and Oligometastases, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and personalised precision therapy using next-generation sequencing (also known as genomic signatures).
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Jegannathen is actively involved in clinical research, and is principal investigator on many trials in lung and breast cancer and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. She is also the Chief Investigator for KONTRAST Phase 3 Study for Lung Cancer, Principle Investigator/UK Scientific Committee member for a real world evidence study in early breast cancer. She also devotes time to the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical professionals.
Her other roles include Grand Rounds Chair Person at University Hospital North Midlands NHS Trust, Freedom to Speak up Guardian UHNM NHS Trust, Deputy Chair Expert Midlands Lung Expert Advisory Group West Midlands.
She is also a passionate Musician and Veena Instrumentalist
