Neil Burnet is Professor of Academic Proton Clinical Oncology at the University of Manchester and Honorary Consultant Oncologist at the Christie Hospital, having moved to Manchester in 2018.
Neil’s first Consultant post was at Velindre Hospital in Cardiff, where he worked for two years. He moved to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he worked for a little over 20 years, latterly as Professor of Radiation Oncology.
He has been involved in the Proton Oversees Programme since before its inception in 2008. He is particularly interested in Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) for chordoma of the skull base and spine, for glioma and meningioma, and in how to minimise side effects of treatment.
