DE BRUYN, Professor Marco

The de Bruyn lab is focused on the concept of “bench-to-bedside-and-back”. Supported by, among others, the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) the lab dissects the fundamentals underlying anti-tumour immune responses in a clinical setting. Current focus of the lab is a recently identified T:B cell axis revolving around resident memory T cells (Trm), CXCL13 and tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS), the ex vivo analysis of neo-adjuvant immunotherapy in endometrial cancer (NCT04262089), and the interaction between DNA damage and the immune response. Whole-body approaches such as positron-emission tomography (PET) are integrated with single cell and spatial transcriptomics.
