Alice Andrews, DipHe, MSc
Clinical Nurse Specialist Lead and Acute Oncology CNS Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust
I qualified as a Staff Nurse in 2005 and have spent 12 years of my career working in Oncology. Oncology Nursing has always been my passion, I have held CNS roles in colorectal, skin and sarcoma and currently manage a large team of cancer clinical nurse specialists. I have been in my current role in Acute Oncology for the last 3 years, my experience in skin has been beneficial with the recent use of immunotherapy for other cancers. I thrive on the challenge of learning new skills and improving patient experience. To this end I have recently carried out a research project looking at the experience of patients diagnosed with Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) as part of an emergency admission; In my free time I volunteer for a couple of charities, one volunteering as a nurse at music festivals, the other supporting night time revellers and the homeless in town on a Saturday night.
